Ok...Jingle # 2. Speed Cola.
This one was fun. Just before I headed out to Brazil earlier this year, I was listening to a lot of bossa nova (you know, to get in the mood). At the same time, we were having trouble coming up with a name for the Sleight of Hand machine. I mean...that doesn't really sound like a drink.
But Speed Cola sure did :)
So, given the trip to Brazil, and the newly named machine, we thought, lets do some Latin inspired music for this one, complete with Elena belting out the vocals. Well, she couldn't make it to the studio the day we recorded Craig (we were going to do a duet). Craig sounded so perfecly inspired that we ultimately just used Elena for the 'tag-line'.
I've been asked to include the lyrics next time so here are the lyrics for Speed Cola!
Your hands are slow, your movements sluggish
Your lack of speed, just brings you anguish
Just take a sip, you will move faster
Just try it now! And speed is mastered
Press those lips against the only one that really moves you
Speed Cola Speeds up your life!
Good stuff!

Thats awesome lol
What did you do down in Brazil?
I think this is our (zombie group's) favorite one out of them.
Love the latin beat.
Thanks again for posting these!
hey whats up bryan?
iv been listening in to the jingles for a while and i heard about your blog from telixion thought i would comment.
you know craig and elena really have great voices and sound perfect in the speed cola jingle.
just wondering im working on my own custom nazi zombie map, have you got any tips on what makes better sounds when fighting off zombies? ;)
Hey Paul
lol...glad you like the Jingles. Those were a lot of fun to make (mainly because Craig and Elena are so talented).
I'm not sure I understand your question on what makes better sounds when fighting off zombies. Do you mean zombie sounds? Or other stuff around you?
well i kind of meant as in a soundtrack, but now that i look back at my question after playing some nazi zombies i realize it's mostly silent.
for the zombie sounds i haven't looked but im sure there is just a line of code for each zombie sound in the cod tools?
anyway thanks for replying.
Yeah, we don't use music all that much (just an underscore). Music is great, but in a game like Zombies, you really want to be able to hear what direction they are coming from, and music just gets in the way of that (or you have to turn it down so much, you just muddy up the mix).
Their animation sets call most of the zombie voice files, but we also added in some script that will play a unique sound on a zombie if it is within a few hundred units and is behind you.
I hope that answers your question...if not let me know.
